What tutors ask before joining

What does Koydo charge on lessons I arrange?

Nothing. 0%. Koydo earns from the Pro Educator subscription — not by taking a cut of your lessons. The rate you set is the rate you keep.

How do I accept payment from students?

Two options. Direct Stripe: you handle billing yourself, Koydo takes 0%. Koydo Payments: we handle billing, disputes, and 1099 — a flat 5.9% + 30¢ all-in, no hidden deductions.

What is the Founding Tutor badge?

The first 1,000 educators who activate Pro Educator receive a permanent Founding Tutor badge on their directory profile. Your rate is also locked for the first year even if we raise prices. It's our thank-you for being early.

Can I list multiple languages?

Yes — any number of languages, each with its own CEFR ceiling. Students searching for a French tutor won't see your Spanish listing unless they search Spanish too.

What verification is required to teach minors?

Tutors accepting bookings for students under 13 must hold a verified-tutor badge from a completed third-party background screen. The screen is arranged inside the app — Koydo coordinates with the screening provider.
